I personally would be happy if I could just get the background color in Gmail conversations and message list to change. Although it would be nice to have something universal on at least Chrome pages and maybe all websites. Sounds like themes won't be allowing that as it would be core code changes vs. UI changes. Current userscripts as implemented in Greasemonkey or though Chromium do not allow any such changes via CSS or other. I can only hope that when extensions become available (late May after trade show???)that someone will create an extension to allow this.
