Comment #6 on issue 18403 by de...@chromium.org: Omnibox doesn't update X clipboard http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=18403
(#4 and #5: "Thing on the screen that is highlighted" excludes autocompleted text, right?) I would need to experiment with it some more to be convinced, but I suspect that I would be happiest with Firefox-esque behavior, i.e. Ctrl-C and context-menu "Copy" commands always updating both the CLIPBOARD and PRIMARY selections, dragging over text with the mouse updating just the PRIMARY selection, and nothing else ever updating selections. Unfortunately, this behavior is completely different from what GTK+ implements and requires hacks all over the place. Is the only reason that anyone cares about X having multiple clipboards because it's nice to be able to Ctrl-C some text and then highlight other editable text with the mouse and hit Ctrl-V to replace it? -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
