I have to jump through hoops to get Chrome use google.com instead of google.nl - the reverse of what you described. The Google-described way to change the search TLD (switch to the desired TLD, do a search, restart Chrome) doesn't always work either.
An option to select the preferred search TLD would be most appreciated.
