I've been using Xfce for about a week now, and am going to stick with
it. I've found or added most of the features I want from Gnome, and
Xfce's look and feel suit me better. Mostly though, it's because it
runs fast. :)

Unfortunately, Chromium still locks up on me when I try to save a 2nd
file before the first save dialog box appears. It's arguably not
Chromium's fault that my file manager is so slow, but it would be nice
if Chromium handled the problem more gracefully.

And lately, the recent builds seem less stable and/or less tolerant of
low-memory situations. Chromium has crashed on me several times this
week when I tried to save/download a file when my Free RAM was nearly
all gone.
