It means that the extension manifest requests a permission that your version 
of Chrome doesn't know. For example, if an extension wants to manipulate 
tabs and windows, it has to request the "tabs" permission.

Apart from a bug in the extension, it is quite possible that you have an old 
version of Chrome; install the latest developer build, restart Chrome and 
try adding the extension again.
