Dear Chat, I placed question a while back. Did Churchill ever consider paying back Lord Camrose and friends when they bought/paid off Chartwell? (WSC Mindset?) He came into some wealth with his memoirs.
Was Chartwell paid off because WSC was going to lose it? I know additional moneys were given to allow him a monthly living expense. (90,ooo)(camrose $15000 plus 75,000 from 15 friends) It seems quite clear here I don't know the full circumstances why Chartwell needed to be paid off? I think I am after Winston's mindset?
