Hi,

I was recommended to get in contact with you from David Freeman of
WinstonChurchill.org. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with
something...

I am trying to get hold of a specific photo of that was taken of Sir
Winston Churchill. The picture was (I presume taken, and) published in a
newspaper in August 1942. In the photo he was inspecting the South African
troops in the Libyan Desert. He has the classic pose in a long black coat
and cigar, and is about to shake the hand of one of the troops, who is my
grandfather, Lionel Rothbart.

My mother used to own this photo (possibly even the original) and it was
always very dear to her, but she has been distraught since it got lost. It
would mean a lot to me, and a tremendous amount to her if you could help me
find a copy of this picture.

Unfortunately, I don't remember which newspaper it was published in.

Let me know,
Thank you!
Myer
