A network trace that captures the network traffic between the Solaris system and the domain controller would be useful.

Hi Natalie,
Thank you for your quick response, the environment currently only has a single
DC (although it will have two shortly). Please find attached the output from
the diag command, please note that the error messages have changed. The smbadm
command is producing the same output, however the information logged to
/var/adm/messages is slightly different (after I tried using the adjoin script):

Original error:
Feb 8 18:13:10 mole smbd[477]: [ID 526780 daemon.notice] Failed to establish
NETLOGON credential chain
Feb 8 18:13:10 mole smbd[477]: [ID 871254 daemon.error] smbd: failed joining
apics.co.uk (UNSUCCESSFUL)
Feb 8 18:13:10 mole idmapd[8960]: [ID 694198 daemon.notice] Configuration
unchanged

After using adjoin:
Feb 8 18:26:58 mole idmapd[1688]: [ID 696364 daemon.error] Degraded operation
(Global Catalog servers not configured/discoverable). If you are running an
SMB server in workgroup mode, or if you're not running an SMB server, then you
can ignore this message
Feb 8 18:31:30 mole smbd[1697]: [ID 526780 daemon.notice] Failed to establish
NETLOGON credential chain
Feb 8 18:31:30 mole smbd[1697]: [ID 871254 daemon.error] smbd: failed joining
apics.co.uk (UNSUCCESSFUL)

Although the end result is the same.....

Kind Regards, and thank you for your time

Alex
