Using the recent dvgrab hdv patch
<https://init.linpro.no/pipermail/skolelinux.no/cinelerra/2006-November/008696.html>
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1703694&group_id=14103&atid=314103
I get the following results with Sony hdr-hc3

localhost hdv02 # /usr/local/bin/dvgrab --format mpeg2 --hdv --showstatus
Found AV/C device with GUID 0x0800460104d89b7c
Capture Started
"dvgrab-002.m2t": 38.79 MB 373 frames timecode 00:00:35.24 date

"dvgrab-002.m2t": 38.79 MB 373 frames timecode 00:00:35.24 date

Capture Stopped

Playback in Mplayer or VLC is badly interlaced
Playback on Kaffeine is perfect

With Cinelerra I'm getting bad playback ( 9 fps) with wrong aspect ratio
regardless of options ( 4:3 )with preferances 1080i 1920x1080 rgb or yuva
on AMD 64x2 2gb ram Sabayon Linux 3.4 loop2

I saw this related thread:

https://init.linpro.no/pipermail/skolelinux.no/cinelerra/2006-November/008696.html
which improved the screen refresh from jerky stills to 9 fps (2nd link)

What are some of your benchmarks. I think an hdmi capture interface would be
incredible. Granted from tape it's allready compressed but as a camera to
disk recorder would be extremely usefull.

Just a follow up. Here is an example of what I get for each frame when
I use --showstatus ...

"dvgrab-001.m2t": 386.73 MB 3593 frames timecode 00:08:46.07 date
2007.06.07 20:03:26
