I've been fond of Debian for a number of years now. The Debian Multimedia Repository is quite extensive and usually up to date. http://debian-multimedia.org/
I've also been looking at AV Linux which is a Debian based distro and it is already stocked and set up with the above repository, including Cinelerra. The live cd looks great and I'm going to upgrade one of my machines with it in the next day or so. I'll let you know how it goes. http://www.bandshed.net/AVLinux.html If you do go with Debian it defaults to Gnome and you need to specify at install time to install other Desktop environments should you prefer KDE. ciao Daniel On Wed, Nov 30, 2011 at 7:48 PM, IL'dar AKHmetgaleev <akhil...@gmail.com> wrote: > На Thu, 01 Dec 2011 13:09:05 +1300 > E Chalaron <e.chala...@xtra.co.nz> записано: > >> Opensuse is a robust (to me) distro >> You may need to add the extra drivers and codecs but it can be find >> very easily. >> 11.4 was a bit so so for me, 11.3 is extremely good, 12.1 just >> realeased, not sure what it gives with gnome 3 >> >> Cheers >> E > > Seems like you can get any distro. > For me cinelerra works well on gentoo (compiled from git) and archlinux > (installed from repo).
