What I need to do is generate a certificate with three subject alternative

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

He's referring to wanting alternate names which can only be done via CLI. But I
don't have the syntax.

You can set it here, but I don't know if I've seen the SANs(alternatehostname)
used when generating the CSR, I think I've only seen them used with the self
signed cert.

admin:set web-security ?
Syntax:
set web-security orgunit orgname locality state
orgunit mandatory organizational unit
orgname mandatory organizational name
locality mandatory location of organization
state mandatory state of organization
country optional country code can not be changed
alternatehostname optional alternate host name

In the screen shots, I include the text to add the SANs that you want for the
cert. I believe in the cases of a Unity Connection server, you need to include
the cluster SANs as well, because this overwrites the SANs in the CSR. (I think)

Subject: [cisco-voip] CUCM 8.6(2) cluster slowness and UCCX issues
        when Subscriber goes offline
Message-ID:
        <11191743fbfab44995641ce6e5fa2e7f04601...@npexchmb102.tdc.internal>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"

All,

We have implemented a new CUCM 8.6(2) Cluster (1 pub, 2 subs), UCCX 8.5(1)SU3,
and CUPS 8.5(4) cluster for a greenfield move from an old CUCM 6.1(2) setup.
One publisher and subscriber are located at our HQ (West Coast) office and the
second subscriber is located in our DR (East Coast) office. The new cluster is
configured for Active Directory LDAP integration and everything is working
fantastic?.

? until we took the subscriber in our DR location (East Coast) offline to do DR
testing. Phones that were registered to this subscriber re-registered with our
HQ (West Coast) office without problem. However, we have run into a few issues.

1. UCCX Agents are having issues logging into the UCCX server even when
they are in the same physical location. I found a few bugs relating to slow
LDAP login however they show as resolved. Eventually some agents are able to
log in, however there have been a few that still cannot get logged in. Those
UCCX agents that were logged in when the subscriber went down are working fine
and didn?t notice anything

2. All of the servers seem to be sluggish in regards to login?s. It is
taking upwards of 20-30 seconds to log into the administration pages and browse
between functions.

I suspect that when we bring the Subscriber server back online the problem will
be resolved. This is a clean cluster, all current on patches, very clean
configuration, running on physically MCS servers that are properly sized.
However, we can?t have the inability for agents to log in as well as lose the
ability to administer the system if this was to happen. In this situation it?s
controlled, but I?m worried about ones that are not (hardware failure, software
crash, etc.).

Can someone provide some insight into what might be going on?

Sincerely,

[cid:[email protected]]

Changing the web-security settings on a VM forces a rehost. I think only
one alternate name would be sufficient but I'm trying to be safe.

If you just generate a CSR and add the alternative names when you are
generating the cert, it will not change the license MAC.

Changing the web-security settings on a VM forces a rehost. I think only one
alternate name would be sufficient but I'm trying to be safe.

Strange.

My SANs no longer give a cert error but when I try to use the subject name
both Opera and IE think the names do not match.

Faxes fail. Seeing CallManager Software MTP being invoked.

"RigthFax doesn't support any type of DTMF, whereas the SIP Trunk supports
RFC2833, the CUCM understands this as a mismatch and allocates the MTP:
MTP_DHSCCMSUB4. Below the initial INVITE coming from Rightfax where you can

Anyone aware of this and if RightFax has a fix to for RightFax to include DTMF
attributes in their SIP SDPs so MTP doesn't get invoked?

I'd say it's callforwarddynamic table.

Only adding a Subject Alternate Name (SAN) using set web-security will not
change the license MAC. The License MAC will only change if the following
fields are modified (the last of which cannot be changed anyway):

orgunit mandatory organizational unit
orgname mandatory organizational name
locality mandatory location of organization
state mandatory state of organization
country optional country code can not be changed

The CLI command 'set web-security' will still show the warning if you are only
adding a SAN, but the license MAC will not change.

Paul,

You would be correct. There is an entry for each DN in that table regardless of
if a CFA destination is configured or not. So, to get a list of DNs that have
CFA destinations configured you could do something like this:

admin:run sql select n.dnorpattern, c.cfadestination from callforwarddynamic as
c, numplan as n where n.pkid = c.fknumplan and cfadestination != ""
dnorpattern cfadestination
===========     ==============
1000 123

If you have duplicate DNs in different partitions, you will need to use
numplan.fkroutepartition and routepartition.name to make the output more useful.

Bit of an odd one here, hopefully someone else has come across it.

Moved Cisco 7912's? from a CCM 4.1 cluster to a CUCM 6.1 cluster. Phone was
fine. We had an issue with DHCP scopes last week and all the phones rebooted
and since then 2 of the 7912's that were moved do not have either the
4.Services option or the 5.Help option when you goto the Application menu.
A quick google found something about a 4k memory limit on the 7912 and it could
be losing part of the XML config but that was a bug (CSCeg35909) that was fixed
back in 4.1.3 SR1 so I have no idea whats going on...

Here is the device info from one of? the phones

MAC Address 00131951584D
Host Name SEP00131951584D
Phone DN 5662

Message Waiting NO

Any ideas anyone?
Cheers,

The only officially compatible and available ATA is the Cisco ATA187
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps514/ps11026/data_sheet_c78-608596.html

You may also still be able to find ATA186s somewhere but they are no longer
manufactured.

We are looking to move people onto Jabber and try to get rid of ViewMail for
Outlook.

Can Jabber be used as a replacement? Namely does it have the functionality
to click a voicemail within Jabber and send the call to the phone? Not all
of our users have speakers on their workstations nor have a need so the
messages need to be played from their phone.

I haven't seen anything within Jabber to get this functionality.

Thanks.

Michael

Jabber does not currently have the ability to play voicemail through the IP
phone currently. For this functionality you'll need Viewmail or look at Visual
Voicemail on your IP phones.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Jabber as ViewMail replacement

We are looking to move people onto Jabber and try to get rid of ViewMail for
Outlook.

Can Jabber be used as a replacement? Namely does it have the functionality to
click a voicemail within Jabber and send the call to the phone? Not all of our
users have speakers on their workstations nor have a need so the messages need
to be played from their phone.

I haven?t seen anything within Jabber to get this functionality.

Thanks.

Michael
