Settle down there, Tom! 1. Roosevelt Giles is a good guy and a very knowledgable instructor... 2. Yes, his book is full of mistakes, some small, some big, but I have been told that there IS errata out there somewhere (search the archives at groupstudy, you should be able to find the link). 3. The 2nd edition is intended to repair those errors, plus add some new material. I personally did a review of 3 chapters for the 2nd edition. I have not seen the final printing, but I did make several comments to fix the many errors that I spotted in the older material. 4. ALL books have technical errors. It is very difficult to catch them all... Some publishers are more diligent than others, but even than it can vary from book to book depending on the editing team that worked on the project. 5. If you felt burned, you should have returned your copy of the book for refund or exchange. Simply reading a chapter or 2 should not have damaged the book to the point that it was beyond return (unles you are one of those folks that marks all over their books with highlighter). 6. Despite the errors, there is still LOTS or really good information in that book. Catching the errors shows that you are learning the material, and though frustrating, it is probably good training... 7. It is only a book - don't let it get to you. I refuse to allow an inanimate object to get my blood pressure up... you should too. 8. Maalox - life is good!
