i think once layer 1 check is done.
go to layer 2.
is there error registered in router or switch?
too many zip, sap, crc, frame error things in that nature.
depending on novell or windows you may have browser problem or sap...
or ULTIMATELY it could be the computer savvvy power user who complain about slow lan.
you never know.
