Several issues come to mind.  The 924 is a Docsis modem.  Is your cable
company a Docsis system?  If it is, the security measures usually in place
will prevent most unprovisioned modems from accruing the service.

Also, your cable system will need to support this modem.  They will have to
have a boot file with the correct MIBs on their servers for this modem.
Each modem brand has a number of different bootfiles available for the level
of service you are paying for.
