Ah.. the old "bad equipment" ruse!

I see a bit of this myself. Customers order drop ship because they don't
want to pay for professional services. They can't get it to work. Therefore
the equipment is bad. The only way to prove otherwise is to configure it
correctly. Voila - free services!!!!

Glad you were able to use your skills to save everyone a of trouble.

Thank you groupstudy members. Today I was handed a 2620 router and told
"This doesn't work, get an RMA." Using what I've learned here, I diagnosed
the problem, erased the old IOS, Loaded a new IOS via ROMMON Xmodem, set the
correct boot parameters, Voila It works. The only thing I had to get from
www.cisco.com was the New IOS image.

Thanks for making me look good in front of the (soon-to-be-ex-)boss.
