I'm interested in seeing the solution to this one.  I had an old point to
point T1 with Ascent Pipeline routers that had the same problem.  After
rebooting the routers the CRC errors would cease for days before starting up
again.  It was so intermittent that I never did figure it out before the T1
was shut down when it wasn't needed any more (dot Com death).
