I was really really joking. I know the layers and the protocols. I was just
trying to loosen people up. I wouldn't have my CCNP or on my way to my CCIE
with that philosophy about ST.

All I can say is
AYEEEEEEEE!
If Microsoft is saying this, they haven't bothered to look
at the OSI
or IEEE reference models. Spanning tree is a management
protocol at
layer 2. NetBIOS (not NetBEUI) is a layer 5 protocol,
although it's
arguable that name resolution is layer 7,
