Go ahead and try it. ATM modules certainly works with the NP-6E. Do they
specify what the issue is? Processor? Shared card SIMM (that 4MB jobbie
under the modules)? Heat? 
I seem to remember that there is a preferred slot for the card with the
greatest throughput. Just can't remember which one. I'll guess at the one
closest to the power supply. 
Let us know the outcome.
