Scottie, This is another option you can try. Single Router Mode (SRM). It will migrate the configs of the primary MSFC to the back-up just like the Supervisor Module does when it fails. We are in the process of testing this feature out at my company.

If you have only one Cat, I would definitely configure it as two separate routers. However if you have two Cats each with dual MSFCs then I would configure them as Active and Standby.
