Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the issue your referring to nothing but a mental issue?!?!
A Cisco Router is a Cisco Router is a Cisco Router. They all operate the same, some just have faster CPU's, more memory, and different interfaces for certain advanced tasks. In terms of Interfaces, most of the time, from a "Config-Mode" point of view, you should already be aclimated to the fact that on any one platform, you specify interface-interface number, or interface-slot number/interface number... i.e., "int s0 or int s1/0 or int fa0/0". The rest is just symantics of how the specific IOS version does different tasks. It's those tasks that you're being tested on, not how to configure them on a specific router and/or switch. As long as you know HOW to configure the tasks that are specified by the test objectives, and the "HOW" is tricky, because there are at least 2 or 3 "creative" ways to accomplish the goal at hand- You just have to pick the one that Cisco wants. So, who cares if you have a replica of the LAB rack... it just may give you a false notion of what to expect anyway, and you might get too over-confident in your preparation. Just another perspective to look at... especially if you are on an extremely tight budget on this journey. [7:33592] I don't believe that "Cisco Nuts" is breaking the NDA by asking what equipment is in the lab. Cisco gives this information out freely on their site but they have a habit of not updating it when they add new equipment to the lab. It's bad enough we have to fork out all that money to take the lab (the average is about three times). The least we should know is what equipment we're going to be working on so we can simulate our home labs to match the actual lab. Just my opinion. [7:33592] It's sad that you are supposedly a CCIE candidate and you cannot read the web site stating what equipment you are expected to know for the exam. On top of that you request people violate the NDA they signed by telling you the exact composite of the rack!
