SRM -vs- config sync wouldn't be an issue if your running Native IOS,
correct?  (Not trying to start a "Native -vs- Hybrid" thread, we just run
Native IOS and are looking at the same OC-3 rig)

Tim,  I can't say I've had first-hand experience with the situation you call
for, but if you can save $11K, reduce the amount of equipment, and take out
a routing hop in the process, I'd say go for it.  As I mentioned above,
aside from the fact we're running Native IOS, we're looking at the OC-3
modules for our 6509s to avoid going from the LS1010 to the 7500 then into
the 6500s...
