Hi all...

I have a small customer who is using cisco 1700 router for internet
access..They use the same connection for accessing citrix server using
internet.

The citrix session disconnects frequently.
I am planning to use priority queueing to give priority to citrix traffic
but I was going through cisco site and it says following consideration..

When choosing to use PQ, consider that because lower priority traffic is
often denied bandwidth in favor of higher priority traffic, use of PQ could,
in the worst case, result in lower priority traffic never being sent. To
avoid inflicting these conditions on lower priority traffic, you can use
traffic shaping or CAR to rate-limit the higher priority traffic.
PQ introduces extra overhead that is acceptable for slow interfaces, but may
not be acceptable for higher speed interfaces such as Ethernet. With PQ
enabled, the system takes longer to switch packets because the packets are
classified by the processor card.

The router which connects to internet is having dual ethernet ports one to
the internet and one to the internal network. The above consideration says I
should not use it for higher speed interfaces like ethernet..

Then what are the options for priortizing..

Thks for ur time.
Cheers
