Hi Priscilla, GARP is also used as an abbreviation for Gratuitous Address Resolution Protocol. This may also be used as a Layer 2 attack to mislead the advertisement of the real IP address by some hackers.

(read not service provider) Do I need to cover IS-IS? Or is it mainly ISPs that use this? How about MPLS? I should discuss it briefly, but aren't the main users of MPLS ISPs, not enterprise networks? Anyone using GARP? That's on my list to research too. I thought that Garp was a hero in a John Irving book. Alas, I have a lot to learn. Thank-you VERY much for answering these quick questions. _______________________________ Priscilla Oppenheimer www.troubleshootingnetworks.com www.priscilla.com Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=58586&t=58493 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
