Yes, it is possible...  It is dependant upon the type of switch you are
using...  If it is a 3550, 2950, 4000, etc... You would do

switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk encapsulation (dot1q or isl)

This is off the top of my head, so verify the exact syntax...  

Not all switches support both so you will need to check your hardware and
software...
