The grouping is :
IOS based switches which are cli commands
Set based switches which are cli as well...

CLI means it is config'd on a command line as opposed to a
menu or GUI..

4000, 5000 and 6000 chassis based switches are set based or
CatOs switches..
29xx, 35xx switches are ios/cli based. interfaces are
configured similar to routers.
