CLARIFICATION: I didn't say that, but I did publicise others saying it - Aaron Swartz and before that Gregory Maxwell: http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/whowriteswikipedia http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikien-l/2006-January/037890.html Aaron's numbers are based on looking at numbers by hand, Greg's are based on searching the entire en:wp database. (He's a Wikimedia developer and runs numbers like this on various things regularly.) What they seem to say is that most of the content is generated by occasional contributors, and most of the organising of the content is done by regulars. I personally found it a good reason to emphasise "don't bite the newbies, they actually write the thing." - d. _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
