I mean some.map and this map is for pdftex only, not for
dvips/dvipdfm[x].

I don't know.
New pdfTeX don't use pdftex.cfg anymore, they use pdftexconfig.tex.
But the \pdfmapfile{} in the pdftexconfig.tex cannot be read when
pdflatex execute.
According to `The pdfTeX user manual'(Rev. 1.671 page 6) \pdfmapfile{}
not dumped.
