Candy is right. Word, WordPerfect and other WPs add a lot of garbage to the file. I just finished a college computer class where we wrote all sorts of webpages (forms, adding movies, javascript) and all were done with Notepad only--- no web design program was allowed.
You may be able to copy and paste the WordPerfect file into Notepad. Copy the code page and paste it into a new Notepad document. Be sure to save the Notepad file as an html file in the "save as" window.
