Myra, the adult decision was to send the dog back to you rather than turn it
over to the animal shelter or give it away. You would be the best person to
have the dog as you would have its interests at heart. The fact that the
girl could even contemplate giving up her dog is excellent indication that
she was not the right home for it. I'd say that she and her parents made the
correct decision after making the mistake of buying a dog.

Unfortunately, it is easy to be fooled when talking to buyers. I've had my
share of mistakes. I'll add this to your list "never sell to a family with
an infant under two years old or with a pregnant mommy".
