I'm usually very patient when it comes to responses to email's like this. But, I believe he is really asking the wrong people. He should be going to the package maintainers. This group is usually content with compiling and installing directly from source. Like Dennis said "Bringing it all together is what the admin is for." ClamAV is a powerful tool; but, would you give a chainsaw to your 2-year old to use.... I think not. Everyone has to learn. There is no shortcuts when it comes to being a sysadmin, no matter what level you are. You can make things easier; but, usually at a cost.
