I have been told by TAC that I *had* to update my servers to 4.1.3 in order to support the 4.1.3 agent. I ran into issues with the 4.1.2 updates that I also had to update the server to support certain aspects of that agent (one reason why auto update is off). The issue I had called TAC on was the 64 Bit Vista machines would not login - once the servers were updated the PC logged right in. As to what was needed specifically for 4.1.3 I do not know - I just did it as I had to have the fixes that the new agent were promised to deliver; yet still have not :(

I am currently running 4.1.1 with the 4.1.2.1 agent. I am condidering upgrading to 4.1.2.1. We had this problem in August when school started (both Vista and XP). I don't remember exactly what version of the client we were running then, but I think it was the same as the Manager, 4.1.2. I saw a machine with this problem just last month. Since we have the temporary role set to 10 minutes, we tell the students to open the program and run LiveUpdate using the LiveUpdate button on the Symantec application. They can get through it within the 10 minutes time limit and then we don't have to wait to see if the Client is going to work or not. I would be interested in hearing the outcome of the TAC... maybe they'll be able to fix the problem.
