When you say you couldn't reproduce it, do you mean that you installed a copy of Avast Free/Home 4.7, ran the agent and it recognised the product and gave the AV signature date and version? It didn't say "ALWIL unknown product" with blanks against "Virus definition file date" and "Virus definition file version", as reported on this list?
