it's a dlink 714p+ . i've gone as far as upgrading the firmware on the router and also installing new dlink wireless cards in the client pc's, none of these seem to help. i also think it's possibly the area i live in (cranston), seems to be lots of radio interference out this end.

if i go with wiring the house i wont have to worry about somebody snooping in on my network ;) (even with WEP enabled)

Is your access point a "linksys?" if it is, that's where your problem could be. I've found linksys very unreliable. I've chucked at least 3 of them in the last year or so. Netgear and SMC have proven to be more reliable.

It might be cheaper for you to try another brand before you wire the house... just my opinion...
