CL is fine, just cuz I mentioned Kynaptic doesn't mean I am completely sold on it. I did the sshd install through command line. Easy. > It does look like koffice is available using the sources in my > sources.list Very Cool > A little OT, I usually replace the regular kde pager with kickerpager. You can download at: > http://www.echostar.ca/gustin/packages/kickerpager_0.3.1-1_i386.deb > if you are interested. I'm not a big pager fan... I tend to CTRL-Tab when I want to use different desktops so no need for the pager at all. I'm a keyboard shortcut speedfreak when it comes to stuff like that. > The CLI way to manually installing packages is dpkg -i package.deb as root > or > with sudo. I am sure there is a GUI way but I have never done that. Okay let me ask you this; we installed sshd with apt-get, how is dpkg going to affect things? Are apt-get and dpkg compatible? I'm not even sure I understand what I am asking... such a noob. BTW, thanks Todd, Jason and you Gustin for the help. I know you are eager to spread the joy of Debian. That's cool.
