Xine's API is stable, at least, and I find it to be pretty decent.

For me, the showstopper is the lack of AC3/DTS passthrough.  Until
GStreamer has that, it's simply not useful for me personally, and if
it's not useful for me, I don't invest my hacking time on it :)
