As logical as this correlation may seem, I can't help but disagree.
The reason is this: I have seen too many people deal with
extraordinary stress levels and yet not develop cancer. A perfect
example would be the people who's spouses have gone through BMT's
and they are left dealing with all the stress of trying to care for
them as well as raise very young children. I can't think of too
many life situations that are more stressful than this.

Another example would be the people who have been the victims of
terrible events such as war, rape, abuse, etc... While it's true
that many of them do infact develop cancer, plenty of them (if not
the majority) of them do not.

I'm sure we could all point to stressors in our lives that we could
blame for our diagnosis but in all honesty, I don't know anyone who
lives completely stress free.....not anyone with children anyway :)

For every person that I know who was a "stressed out, worry wart"
type of person, very few of them developed cancer. On the flip
side, I've known "happy go lucky, healthy" types and some of them
did develop cancer. So for me, I don't accept the stress theory, but
that's just me.
