Hi, I have had CML for 12 1/2 Years so you CAN LIVE alot longer than 5 Years. I plan on living another 15 years aleast. Yes side effects are not fun, but keep with the Gleevec, it is worth it. The treatment is tons better now than when I was 1st treated, side effects alot better on Gleevec than previous therapies. So I am sure around the corner will be new and better drugs with even less side effects.
