Alan :

I mounted a terminal strip behind my electrical panel. That allowed me to
easily attach my GPS, VHF and chart plotter NMEA connections to each other.
NMEA out from the GPS goes to NMEA in at the VHF and chart plotter. NMEA out
from the VHF goes to NMEA in at the GPS. Grounds on all three are connected
together. Your Icom should have come with short cables with receptacles to
accept the phono plugs. The other end of the cables are bare, and can be wired
directly to your other NMEA connections without cutting off the RCA phono
plugs. I'll be at the boat this week, and can send you a picture of the wiring
diagram with wire colors, and can let you know which plug on the Icom is NMEA
out and which one is NMEA in. Let me know whether you need that information.
