I just drain everything down to empty, disconnect inlet and outlet to pressure pump and hot water tank and let her rest. Never had a problem and it does get pretty cold up here.in fact since I sail in salt water I use all remaining fresh water in the tanks to flush the engine and prepare the antifreeze mix I use to winterize the engine and head.

During the flushing process I clean the two strainers (one for each tank) and the galley faucet strainer. The 4 gal 110V hot water heater seems to be where most of the RV antifreeze hides. I send a significant portion of the flush water through it tank often letting is sit for a while.
