I agree, if that pole is usable, get it! Here in Long Island Sound, the whisker pole PHRF reg is no longer than LP. So if your jib is a 150%, LP is 1.5*J, quite a bit longer than J. Having that extra length beyond J makes a big difference.
Spinnaker pole length on the other hand is usually J.
