I used a 200 lbs stainless steel leader wire on the mast head. It runs from
just below the wind sensor unit and to just under the tri-color/anchor
lamp. We added short vertical pieces of the wire from the wind sensor crane
up and pooped around the horizontal wire as well. The Windex has a bird
spike installed. So between the 2 the have managed to keep even the
buzzards and Osprey off the masthead.

My dock neighbors are not so lucky and this fall alone all 6 have lost
their Windexs and suffered damaged to the wind sensors as well.
