Burt, This is the most helpful, non-judgmental group I have ever been a part of. Ask away! With self tailers you do not need jam/cam cleats. It helps to have one person tail and one grind to reduce slippage.
My Barients are pretty much idiot proof. No 2 gears are the same, so it would be hard to put them back together incorrectly. If you are doing 2, remove both drums but take them apart one at a time so you can look at the dirty one when you reassemble the clean one.
