???? Running the water into the bilge is going a fair way to defeating the purpose. You need to run it into the sink and overboard. Joe Coquina

It started at 60% RH as indicated by the hygrometer which the PO had so kindly installed. 12 hours of continuous use and the RH is down to 50%. 5-6 more hours later and it was down to 45%. When we started we had just scrubbed all of the cabinets of mildew so I'm sure that that added to the moisture being drawn out. The dehumidifier, like most, has a feature to install a garden hose. I ran mine to the bilge. It also has a digital display of current humidity which agrees with the boat's hygrometer. I can set the unit to turn on and off automatically or run continuously. Between the 200w engine heater and the 300w dehumidifier there's also plenty of extra heat to draw out the moisture. The largest are usually rated at 20 or 25 oz per day. The traditional dehumidifiers are rated at 30 pints per day. That's 24 times as much moisture removal. Reading the reviews most of the lowest ratings were that the unit didn't seem to be working since it wasn't accumulating any moisture. Some people even did comparisons to traditional units in the same room at the same time. For the price I felt like the smallest traditional unit was a better guarantee. It arrives today. I saw one on a boat couple days ago. They're small and will fit in a sink. They come with a reservoir to catch the condensate but if you remove it or drill a hole in the bottom, you can simply put it in your sink and forget it. http://www.amazon.com/Ivation-IVADM35-Powerful-Thermo-Electric-Dehumidifier/dp/B00GZ5BSBY There are others out there. No clue how good they are. Dennis C.
