Ok. So my engine is a Yanmar 2GM20F. I find the vibration "sweet spot" for motoring is about 2200 rpm. Sounds like I should be pushing it harder trying to find a sweet spot at a higher rpm? I can't recall what the tachometer range is on my boat. I've also had someone mention pushing the engine up to a high rpm before shutting it down for what reason I don't know. Lastly, I notice truckers never shut off their engines immediately after a highway haul. Should I idle my engine before shutting down after a long motor. Thanks for your thoughts.
