Except that was damage to the OTHER boat. I don’t think the $20K refers to the jetski.
Joe Ps – could be worse, we had a Catalina 27 (iirc) vs. tanker collision near Sandy Point and the Catalina 27 insurance was billed something like $300K for towing and inspection fees to get the tanker going again plus presumably any scratches in the tanker’s paint. The tanker pilot ran aground on the bar at Sandy Point trying to miss the Catalina, which he did not but did do a swideswipe that caused little damage to either vessel. Also the couple onboard jumped off and swam to Kent Island at night! Fortunately, we just renewed our policy and it appears that there has been no increase in the premium. Unless you are suing for emotion distress or something, you might end up getting paid out in full by the jetski place and not have a basis for suing. Make sure you keep up with your insurance company and how they are doing with the claim.
