Hello, Birders. Lots of stuff moving over Greenlee Preserve, Lafayette, Boulder County, in the overnight hours earlier today, Memorial Day, May 30th, 2011. Of interest was a flight call, loud and ringing, slurred and husky. I almost always get this one right when I hear it during the day, then follow up with a visual: AMERICAN REDSTART. Can't 100% prove it on the invisible bird last night, but I'm pretty sure.
During the early daylight hours today, while attempting to escape the massive congestion associated with the Bolder Boulder, Hannah and Andrew and I had a nice singing male AMERICAN REDSTART along Gapter Road, near the beginning of the Centennial Trail. Here's a map: http://tinyurl.com/3g4js35. The bird was singing from the tall tree indicated by the blue stickpin. ------------------------------- Ted Floyd Editor, Birding Blog: http://tinyurl.com/4n6qswt Twitter: http://tinyurl.com/2ejzlzv Facebook: http://tinyurl.com/2wkvwxs ------------------------------- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
