This is not the first time I am curious, this time I'll ask. When you put phrases lie "would you like to do XYZ" what it actually mean? To me it sounds like: "I need XYZ, do you want to do it for me?", which is of course a strange way to ask someone for a favor. Or what does this construct actually mean?
