Benji came through the surgery fine, he did not have stones yet,
although there were crystals. The bladder problem was described as
being an extra pouch. The vet said, what ever this was, he had a
name for it, but I don't remember, anyway something about when pups
are in the womb, they have something, and this is where the urine
goes, but after they are born, it closes and becomes a regular
bladder, Benji's did not close. He also has very thick bladder
walls, which could be the result of having the UTI so long, it is
possible the bladder may regenerate itself, but he may never be able
to hold his urine as long as normal dogs. Oh well, he will just have
to go out more often than our other dogs, as long as he is well that
is all that matters, now we get to start the house training. I never
pushed him before, I just wanted him to pee. Benji says Thanks to
all of you, for your prayers and concerns. I am getting ready to
file my complaint with the Dept. of Ag, now that I have a copy of all
my vet bills. I was also told that the guy we got Benji from maybe
in violation of a city ordinance, I am going to check it out.
Something about selling dogs for a profit, within the city limits,
without a permit or license. Benji sure is a tough little guy, to
have endured all of this since the day he was born. He is asleep
right now, but when he is awake, he is just as onery as ever.
