It takes years and years to bred down to get that uniform look, ALL breeds  
started out as mixes until they came to be.  It takes years of record  keeping, 
amount of dogs in so many states, generations till a uniform look, etc,  etc.  
The cockapoo will be a breed someday probably not in our lifetime,  but the 
ground work is being done by the NACR.

I guess that’s why these dogs cannot  get a breed standard established by the 
AKC.  You always know a black  lab, or a beagle when you see one.
