If he has food taken away from him that may be the problem and free feeding
would solve it, since it is always there when he is hungry. Last people may
have taken his food away, perhaps teased him. All my dogs free feed, always
have, they eat when they want to. I have raised 4 cockapoos and not one of
them is food aggressive, one thing they were taught from early on was the drop
it command, serves many purposes and anyone can just about climb in their
mouths and they would never growl. You teach this by taking things out of
their mouth by saying drop it, you look over what ever it is and praise the
heck
out of them for releasing it, and then give it back to them, still praising
them for being a good girl/boy, it works for many purposes, one if they pick
up something they shouldn't have, second it shows them its ok to drop it
nothing bad is going to happen when they release whatever including their
food,
mine spit now soon as I start saying it.

First and foremost, with this dog; do not “free feed” this will not solve
aggressive behaviors
